I found everything perfect, would recomand it to others. Sensational breakfast was available. I enjoyed neat rooms with tea, shower, for instance, and attentive staff. The location was stunning, to the Chard area, in the beautiful area. I ate at the gourmet restaurant near the hotel.

Lovely place to stay, both the grounds and mill house are charming. The food is good and the dining room has a relaxed atmosphere where the service both in the evenings & at breakfast is attentive. One member of our party was quite elderly and this was taken into account. When we arrived & were shown our room, the heating had been put on to take the chill out of the air, even though it was August! We were quite touched by this. The staff were brilliant, friendly and informative and made us feel at home. Would certainly recommend to others.
Part of our party stayed in the Chaffcombe Room on the first floor, the room was very nicely decorated & furnished but the beds were far too soft, bouncy and sagged in the middle, maybe they had seen better days ? This gave the two that stayed in this room backache. Shame because everything else about our stay was good.

Excellent location, good food, grounds & history interesting , staff very helpful.
Bedroom a bit small, bathroom mirror should have had a separate switch as all lights on at once a bit dazzling.

Staff are lovely, made the few days feel like home from home, great location for touring, chief's efforts in the evening tasted superb and a comfortable four poster bed made for a long and satisfying night's sleep. Just what I was looking for, an English country hotel that made me feel like I'd found somewhere special, I'll be back.

Totally recommend for a hurried visit
Comfortable room, modern bathroom, with a lovely shower that my wife rated as the best she's experienced in a hotel, complemented by friendly staff and delicious meals in the restaurant.
Nothing, everything was great.

The hotel was amazing , the staff were lovely and friendly . We were upgraded to a suite with four poster. I have never stayed in such a comfortable bed. The bathroom was lovely with a great shower separate bath also . The restaurant was amazing and fantastic value for superb food and just a lovely relaxed romantic feeling candles soft music etc. Breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked to order with a view of the court yard and resident peacocks. The grounds were beautiful but to our loss muddle due to the time of year . We will definitely return to the hotel and sooner rather than later. The hotel has original features beams and a water mill every thing was lovely for a weekend break away.
There is nothing not to like if you like modern travel lodge style hotels stay away if you enjoy relaxed beautiful surroundings with a friendly smile from staff this is the hotel to choose

Had an amazing getaway with friends, dancing the night away with disco lights and enjoying great company. The staff were cute, and overall, we appreciated the cozy atmosphere and interesting design of the building. Perfect for a group trip with facilities that meet all our needs.
One downside was that some of the evening meals weren't cooked well, disappointing after a long day of adventures.
